While 20 years is a long time in the boutique hospitality world, a careful renovation leaves The Manor looking as fresh as the day it first opened, if not fresher. And while New Delhi has only grown larger and more overwhelming in the past two decades, the hotel’s setting, within the upscale, semi-suburban New Friends Colony, remains as tranquil as ever, and elevates its claim to being an “urban resort” beyond mere hyperbole.
With a mere 12 rooms it never feels busy, and beyond the stylish and spacious accommodations it’s full of spaces to discover, from lounges to gardens and lawns — as well as an Ayurveda-inspired spa, a fitness center complete with yoga and pilates facilities, and an art gallery with an ever-changing selection of works on view.
One restaurant for 12 rooms would be an impressive enough ratio. The Manor has two: In-Q, an upscale contemporary Indian eatery, and Verandah, an all-day restaurant serving comfort food from all around the world. There’s also a bar, Onyx, where you’ll find hotel guests as well as New Delhi locals enjoying creative cocktails in stylish surroundings.
