AMERON München Motorworld

Located within a former railway repair shop in Munich, Motorworld is difficult to classify — it’s got museum exhibits, vehicle and accessory retailers, specialty workshops, and, in the Ameron München Motorworld, an automotive-themed luxury boutique hotel. This last feature is perhaps the most unusual member of the Ameron group, a series of hotels in Germany and Switzerland that bridge the gap between business and leisure hospitality while indulging in some impressive contemporary design.

Naturally, Ameron München Motorworld is full of tributes to automotive culture, and some of the studios allow you to park your own car or motorcycle in a glass-walled garage adjacent to your room. The comforts are up-to-date, and the aesthetics, racing influence aside, are a tasteful collage of modernism’s greatest hits, from Bauhaus on through to the Seventies.

There’s a spa, in case you fancy a treatment while your car is getting one of its own, as well as a vast array of meeting and events spaces scattered throughout the Motorworld complex. Meanwhile, the restaurant, Bacio della Mamma, trades on Munich’s reputation as “the northernmost Italian city,” and pays tribute not just to Rome’s culinary tradition but to its gregariousness as well.
