A fresh perspective on the Balearic luxury boutique hotel comes courtesy of the Kimpton Aysla Mallorca, and any question about this California-born chain’s ability to assimilate to life on the European continent are laid immediately to rest. This 79-room hotel, designed by the Palma-based architect Guillermo Reynés, feels as local as can be, not only in its architecture and design but in its atmosphere as well, which is as laid-back and bohemian as can be but without sacrificing any of its stylishness.
The rooms are spacious, bright, and colorful, and come equipped with all the modern necessities, including wireless sound systems, Chromecast-enabled televisions, and in-room espresso machines, as well as Kimpton signatures like yoga mats made from recycled cork. And the suites add not just extra space but in some cases extravagances like private gardens or outdoor jacuzzis.
Meanwhile, the facilities in common include an outdoor swimming pool and a spa by Codage Paris, also responsible for the in-room bath products. And the Kimpton Aysla’s cuisine is eclectic as well — the fine-dining SABA combines Mediterranean and pan-Asian influences, while Zayt Pool Kitchen & Garden Deli is the more casual Mallorcan option.
