Le Petit Pali Brentwood fills a gap in the Los Angeles hotel scene: in short, it’s a great place to stay in one of the city’s most stylish neighborhoods, an area that’s surprisingly short on lodging options. Brentwood is mostly residential, and Le Petit Pali offers a rare chance to live like the locals, including NBA stars and A-list actors. Like others in hotelier Avi Brosh’s California collection, the 25-room boutique hotel is a smart redesign of an old inn — in this case, a historic motor lodge on Sunset Boulevard. With four bungalow-style buildings set around a series of outdoor patios with abundant greenery, stone fountains, and string lights suspended above wooden Adirondack chairs, it’s a fashionable home away from home with space to relax indoors and out.
Rooms are retro-chic, but with a decided emphasis on the latter; they feature hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, white brick walls, and high-end details from Bellino linens and Diptyque bath products to gourmet minibars and Marshall speakers. Cheerful patterns are everywhere — striped wallpaper, a plaid throw blanket, whimsical floral headboards — and most have separate living areas. Several come with private outdoor patios, like the LPP Suite, which also has an adorably vintage-looking, fully equipped kitchen and bar. A complimentary continental breakfast is delivered to rooms each morning, and on sunny mornings, it’s a pleasure to enjoy it al fresco on the shared patio. Brentwood’s famous farmers market is a short stroll away, as are many of its cafés and shops.
