Arguably the nexus of alpine high culture — pun fully intended — Innsbruck has long been a perennial draw for slope junkies and Tyrolean history buffs alike. That’s particularly true for the pedestrianized old town, where Boutiquehotel Weisses Rössl (“white horse”) preserves the essence of four generations of Plank family hospitality. Though it boasts a 600-plus-year pedigree, the building has been painstakingly transformed into a model of efficiency — solid and sensible, it makes great use of available space, with aged wood and stonework accents supplying the artisan touch throughout. Calm, cool, and collected rooms come thoughtfully appointed in grayscale, with organic textures to let them breathe.
