Asmundo di Gisira
The art isn’t confined to the lobby, either. One of the Art Rooms prominently features a lifelike crocodile as well as a foot-shaped chair by Gaetano Pesce, while others mix classical references with contemporary murals and modernist furniture. And while they’re all different, they share a lively mix of ornate historical architecture, cool contemporary design, and luxury-boutique comforts.
Beyond breakfast, there’s no restaurant, but Asmundo di Gisira places you right at the edge of Catania’s Pescheria market, and close by to a profusion of restaurants. Hotel staff is happy to help with recommendations, not only for meals but for all manner of sights around town — given the character of the hotel, you won’t be surprised to hear that they’re particularly plugged-in when it comes to the local art scene.
