Modern Design en Happening
There’s a case to be made that present-day Berlin’s main occupation is artistic and cultural production — which, in a way, means that the Nhow Berlin, in this town at least, is the ultimate business hotel. Where some more traditional hotels boast about their conference space, Nhow points out that it’s the only European hotel with two recording studios on premises. We’ll go one better and simply add that the list of hotels with one recording studio is not a long one.

Non-musicians shouldn’t get the impression that the studios are the only noteworthy thing about the Nhow. The building itself is a marvel, with Sergei Tchoban’s design cutting a rakish silhouette: the upper floors, with their shiny metallic skin, cantilever out over the Spree. And inside it’s an industrial-design wonderland courtesy of Karim Rashid, whose wild colors and curvaceous forms set a distinctively futuristic tone.

And if you’re a fan of high-design hotel rooms you’ll be delighted to find that the fireworks aren’t contained to the public spaces. There’s nothing in business beige here — more colors, more curves, more Karim Rashid fantasia. Have an electric guitar delivered, if you’re in the mood for a jam — or book a session in the studios, if you’re ready to lay tracks.
