An 800-year-old castle within the UNESCO-listed Geopark Odsherred on Denmark’s Odsherred Peninsula is the setting for one of the country’s most unique hotels. Dragsholm Slot has been in operation as a hotel since 1937, but it’s kept pace with the times; the rooms are a vibrant mix of antique and modern elements, and the comforts are on par with any luxury hotel in Europe. Of particular note is the culinary program; in addition to a bistro and an informal market-style restaurant, it’s home to the painstakingly local and seasonal — and Michelin-starred — Dragsholm Slot Gourmet.
