Locals know the Coco Hotel as the hospitality branch of the Copenhagen Food Collective, or Cofoco — a network of a little more than a dozen restaurants that are dedicated to seasonality and sustainability. A similar approach underlies the Coco; it’s powered by the same solar panels that supply the restaurants, making it carbon-negative, and it’s Green Key certified and plastic-free to boot.
It’s not just virtuous, either — its location, right on the Vesterbrogade, places it amid many of the city’s most stylish establishments. The exterior, with its blue-and-white striped awnings, is reminiscent of Paris, while the interiors are perfectly balanced between hygge and hip. And while the Coco is nothing if not modern, the hospitality is refreshingly old-fashioned and personal.
Café Coco serves coffee, drinks, and light fare in an effortless demonstration of Copenhagen Food Collective expertise. And within a block or two from the hotel’s doors you’ll find no fewer than four Cofoco establishments, from Delphine, the Mediterranean restaurant right next door, to Les Trois Cochons, the French bistro that supplies Café Coco with its baked goods, and Jah Izakaya & Sake Bar, a classic-meets-modern Japanese restaurant.
