This 50-room luxury boutique hotel is a new build, but one that does justice to the historical architecture that surrounds it; the interiors, too, are a mix of throwback elegance and 21st-century boutique-hotel style, and the rooms combine antique good looks with subtly high-tech modern comforts. Not to be missed: the Veranda Lounge, with its creative small-plates menu and botanical craft cocktails.
