Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection
Dorottya utca 2, Budapest, Hongrie
Leopold Town (Lipótváros)
216 Chambres
Design moderne et Animé
Opened in 2023, the hotel is the result of the union of three buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, each with its own distinct architectural identity. Designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni, it maintains a deep connection to local history and traditions, starting with its name — a tribute to Dorothea of Württemberg, wife of Archduke Palatine Joseph, governor of Hungary in the 19th century, and a beloved figure among the Hungarian people.
The enchantment of Dorothea begins at the entrance, where the grand colonnaded atrium is adorned with evocative female portraits by photographer Zoltán Tombor, lending the hotel an aura of timeless elegance. The soul of the hotel is reflected in its decorative details and furnishings, which reinterpret Hungarian craftsmanship with a contemporary touch. From the striking tilework of the lobby’s feature wall to the refined embroidery embellishing staff uniforms and room textiles, and the carpets that echo traditional patterns, every element contributes to a rich and immersive narrative.
The hotel’s culinary offerings are just as captivating. Pavilon, a garden restaurant enveloped in lush greenery, forms the heart of the property, while Alelì brings authentic Italian flavors to the table and Bibo Budapest, the rooftop bar and restaurant, offers breathtaking views over the city.
Completing the journey is a tranquil spa, where guests can indulge in rejuvenating treatments inspired by the healing properties of traditional Hungarian herbs and plants.
