A lot has changed since the Hôtel de la Poste opened as Zermatt’s third-ever hotel in 1875. For one, the property — now Unique Hotel Post — has embraced the idea that throwing a great après-ski party is just as important as the sport itself. With five clubs and bars onsite at their disposal, guests can choose between dancing in a wine cellar, listening to live music, or kicking up their feet at a rustic pub. When you’re ready to call it a night, retire to one the mountain lodge style rooms. Like the rest of the hotel, a sense of history is apparent in the hundred-year old stone walls, but the rest of the interior has been entirely refitted with natural materials like sandblasted wood and sleek, minimalist furniture.
