Part of a youthful new wave of boutique-influenced outdoor adventure hotels, Tälta Mountain Lodge is an especially bold contrast with historic Stowe, Vermont. It’s meant to be a contemporary version of the classic Sixties lodges that fueled the original American ski boom, and contemporary it is — complete with modernist furniture, minimalist-chic guest-room décor, and utilitarian touches like modular wall-mounted storage systems for your ski or hiking gear. Some rooms are dog-friendly, and the location is ideal for all four seasons, with access to mountain biking, fly fishing, and some of the Northeast’s best skiing.
