Le Saint-Antoine, in the Rennes city center, is a member of Best Western’s Premier Collection — we hasten to add for American readers that the Best Western name carries substantial weight in Europe. It’s as modern as can be, from its green-glass façade to the stylish simplicity of its Zen-inspired guest rooms. There’s a spa by Carita, as well as a substantial breakfast service; in the manner of many French boutique hotels, it does without a restaurant, though the location, in the very heart of Rennes, means you’re never short of options in that department.
