No isolated resort, the Banyan Tree Puebla is set in a 19th-century building on the edge of the city center, in what used to be the Azul Talavera Hotel. Under the new banner it’s every bit as extravagant a production as we expect from Banyan Tree, marrying historically aware opulence with top-end contemporary comforts and facilities. The rooms and suites bear traces of the building’s past, as does the primary restaurant, Pasquinel Bistrot; it’s joined by several more, including a panoramic rooftop deck with a Thai restaurant and bar, as well as a full-featured Banyan Tree spa.
