In South Africa’s Eastern Cape, Shamwari Private Game Reserve is home to a huge variety of wildlife — and to seven lodges where humans can temporarily reside among zebras and elephants. Shamwari Long Lee Manor, with its old-world glamour and just seventeen suites, may be the most elegant option. This luxury hotel is built around a historic manor house set amid manicured gardens, but the property has been updated to include an infinity pool, a small spa, and a fitness center.
