Münster is known for its Gothic architecture, and Mauritzhof Hotel Münster channels the dark beauty of the city’s churches. This design-focused boutique hotel’s aesthetic is moody and modern, done up in shades of slate gray, taupe, and turquoise, with lots of dark wood and glass and sleek midcentury furniture upholstered in rich fabrics like velvet and leather. Guest rooms are sleek and quiet, thanks to soundproofing, with parquet floors, feather beds, Nespresso machines, muted lighting, and bathrooms with underfloor heating, a welcome feature in winter. Some have balconies facing a skyline punctuated with towering church spires. Downstairs, have a martini by the fireplace or relax over lunch on the terrace before heading out to explore the bike-friendly city on two wheels.
