The affluent neighborhood of El Poblado is the place to be in Medellín at the moment, and the sense of limitless possibility is only heightened by hotels like 23 Hotel Medellín, whose playful retro-modern structure, with its porthole windows and jungle terraces, evokes a confident optimism. The rooms, though they’re both stylistically and functionally ultra-modern, feel surprisingly warm and organic, and the wide porthole windows pair well with the soaking tubs in the junior suites. Cala Roca, the hotel’s restaurant, marries wood-fired Italian and Colombian flavors, and Quemao, the rooftop bar, is a particular delight.
