Another boutique hostel that sits right on the dividing line between hip hotel and designer dormitory, HO36 is a ten-minute walk from Lyon’s city center, in the vibrant neighborhood of La Guillotière. There’s a systematic logic beneath its industrial-chic look: all-white interiors for dormitory rooms, all black for private hotel rooms, and a handful of individual designs for the lofts, sleeping anywhere from two to six, with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the hotel’s main social space, a bistro and bar with an outdoor terrace — expect a typically Lyonnais devotion, however modest the price.
