With a name that promises nothing less than grandeur on the Emerald Coast, the stately Royal Émeraude Dinard doesn’t disappoint — this 1876 brick-and-stone mansion is in some ways a throwback to the golden era of French seaside hospitality, before the advent of jet travel and mass tourism. Though its interiors have been refreshed, it’s not hard to imagine it as the setting of a turn-of-the-century detective novel along Agatha Christie lines. Among the public offerings are a piano bar modeled after a British club and a locally sourced breakfast served in the hotel’s conservatory.
