Named for its address in the historic center of Modena, Hotel Cervetta 5 is a boutique hotel that combines the minimalist-luxe Italian furnishings you’d expect with eclectic décor that’s not afraid of a rough, handmade rustic edge. It’s a heritage building with no elevator, so requires guests with a facility for stairs. And while there’s a daily breakfast spread featuring fresh local pastries, in the grand tradition of European city-center boutique hotels, it goes without a restaurant of its own — Antica Trattoria Cervetta, no relation aside from its position on Via Cervetta, is right next door.
