MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

For many travelers, the name Nikki Beach instantly conjures up images of a glamorous coastal lifestyle: champagne and house music by the infinity pool, pop-up fashion shows at the Cannes Film Festival, lavish white parties to kick off the season. Indeed, the hotel component is only part of the brand — Nikki Beach is, first and foremost, a luxury beach club concept, born in Miami Beach and continually branching out to seaside locales in places like Monte Carlo, Saint-Tropez, and Ibiza.

The outpost on Greece’s northeastern Peloponnese coast follows in the same festive tradition. Open only when the weather is warm, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Porto Heli feels like a stylish, buzzy beach club that happens to have a hotel attached. The lodgings are every bit as chic as the club, of course, outfitted with smooth parquet flooring and modern décor in shades of white and blue. All rooms come with sultry mood lighting, futuristic in-room entertainment systems, customizable minibars, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the bay; bathrooms are especially luxurious, with spacious walk-in showers and oversized tubs. Most have private patios or terraces, and higher-end suites have private pools.

At Nikki Beach, though, it’s all about the scene outside. Resident DJs and live performers enliven frequent parties and the brand’s signature Sunday brunch, and around every corner is another inviting spot to relax with a mimosa, from white daybeds on the sand to chaises partially submerged in the pool’s aquamarine water. There’s a rooftop bar and restaurant open for sunsets and beyond. And for the conscientious partygoer, a 24-hour gym awaits, plus an open-air spa and an all-day café, ideal for recovering from the revelry of the night before.
