Set on a spectacular beach on the Andaman side of the Thai mainland, Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas is an ultra-luxe seaside resort in the contemporary-classic mold — the style is full of references to local tradition, and though it’s a new build, its architecture includes salvaged elements that are in some cases hundreds of years old. Rooms, suites, and villas are lavish, if a touch conservative; junior suites come with jacuzzis while suites and villas have plunge pools. The spa, naturally, is serious business, and Takola Thai serves an upscale take on the authentic local cuisine.
