A building whose roots go back to the 13th century in the historic old town of Zürich is the setting for the Marktgasse Hotel, one of the city’s oldest inns which has evolved organically over the years into a surprisingly modern — or perhaps timeless — boutique hotel. Antique architecture and classic modernist furniture are a natural match, and while every room is a bit different, they all feature luxe touches like Schramm mattresses. Many European hotels of this size do without a restaurant, but the Marktgasse has two: the very casual Delish and the two-Michelin-starred IGNIV Zürich by Andreas Caminada.
