Puqio
The hotel centers around a cozy, light-filled lodge where gourmet meals, prepared with local ingredients and cooked over open fires, are served family-style. Accommodations are in canvas tents or round adobe cottages, all featuring wood-burning stoves, heated walls, and private terraces. Cottages have wood-beamed ceilings and clawfoot tubs, while tents have open-air soaking tubs as well as indoor and outdoor showers. The look is rustic-chic throughout, with wooden writing desks, antique lamps, and natural linen and leather accents. Puqio’s knowledgeable guides lead guests through the surrounding wilderness, and closer to camp, it’s common to spot Andean hummingbirds and alpacas around the property — and, if you’re lucky, a condor flying high overhead.
