Unusually for these parts, MILAM sits not in the beachfront resort district but more or less on the edge of the city, where, presumably, such a high-concept, high-design hotel village feels right at home. The name — a reference to tantric “dream yoga” — says it all, channeled via the sinuous organic forms, whimsical lighting, and dramatic design gestures in full flower throughout the property. The rooms are dreamier still, each an indoor-outdoor exercise in psychedelic plaster with local clay and macrame accents. The rest is up to you, dreamwalker: yoga under a traditional palapa roof? Self-care at the spa? Swim-up drinks? Or all three?
