Sylt, a geographically ever-changing wisp of a landmass in the North Frisian Islands, has long been a hideout for Germany’s jet set, even standing in for Martha’s Vineyard as a film location. Tucked away toward the north end of Sylt, List’s A-ROSA offers a quintessentially German resort experience, where vitality and wellbeing shade imperceptibly into luxe extravagance and quiet relaxation. A 3,500 square meter wellness center is the jewel in A-ROSA’s crown, boasting no fewer than six uniquely themed saunas, 18 treatment rooms, each with sea views, and indoor/outdoor swimming pools. Bike rentals are highly encouraged, with 40 kilometers of beach and sandy dunes to be discovered. Suites merge classical elegance with modern design, with balconies that offer views of the North Sea — as does Dünen, the resort’s restaurant.
