The region of Le Marche, on the Adriatic coast to the east of Tuscany, came a bit late to the tourism game. But while it may not have quite the development or the infrastructure of some of Italy’s more well-traveled regions, it’s got many of the same attractions: gentle rolling hills, mile after mile of picturesque countryside, and a distinctive local cuisine that’s treated with the reverence it deserves. You don’t have to take our word for it, though — a stay at Filodivino Foresteria & Cantina ought to convince you that Tuscany is far from the only province worth visiting.

Filodivino’s brick buildings are of a more recent vintage than the familiar stone farmhouses of other Italian country inns, and its three rooms and five suites are contemporary in both comfort and style, with unfinished textures that evoke rustic associations which are well suited to Filodivino’s surroundings.

These include not just distant pastoral landscapes but vineyards as well; Filodivino is a working winery, not just a hotel. You’ll have every opportunity to sample its wares, perhaps none better than at the table. Filodivino’s restaurant serves classic Marche cuisine alongside wines from the estate and beyond, and while the flavors are familiar, the region has a culinary character that’s all its own.
