This elegant 16th-century palazzo, set on a quiet pedestrian-only street around the corner from the Spanish Steps, is home to one of Rome’s legendary old hotels. The landmark reopened in 2024 after yearlong renovations, its old-world grandeur only enhanced by its design-forward makeover.

The opulent interiors are freshly outfitted with bespoke wallpaper, Murano glass chandeliers, supple velvet loveseats, and decorative mosaics by Roman artisans. Rooms and suites are glamorous, lined in oak and marble, with antique furnishings draped in rich Italian fabrics; some have private balconies, mirrored bar cabinets, and ceramic lamps handcrafted in a Florentine atelier. The ground-level Café Romano, with its cozy wood-paneled bar and chocolate-brown tufted leather banquette seating, is a perfectly stylish spot for an aperitivo.
