The Restaurant Orphée in the old Regensburg city center bills itself as the most authentic French bistro east of the Rhine, and it’s got a few rooms upstairs — but the Orphée Andreastadel, its sister hotel, occupies the ground floor of an updated barn a ten-minute walk to the north, on the opposite bank of the Danube. Of its ten rooms, six feature patios overlooking the verdant riverbank. All of them come with kitchenettes and breakfast service, and if you’re looking for a restaurant idea — a French bistro, perhaps? — the Andreastadel’s staff is quick with a recommendation.
