The city of Nikko is a place of much religious and historical significance, and close to Tokyo to boot; an auspicious setting for one of Japan’s most highly regarded luxury boutique hoteliers. Fufu Nikko enjoys close proximity to numerous cultural sites, and also benefits from the deep immersion in nature that is a Fufu trademark. Rooms are modern both in design and in function, though they also contain timeless comforts like private hot-spring baths. There’s a public bathing complex as well, with a supremely restful forest view; Setchu, the restaurant, serves a heady mix of Japanese and European dishes.
