Small-scale, retro-chic, and environmentally friendly, Numo Mykonos is a refreshing antidote to the island’s more party-focused hotels. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building on a gently sloping hill above Kalafati Beach, it’s the work of a boutique hotel group that runs the popular Numo Ierapetra, on the island of Crete.
Numo Mykonos, like its sister hotel, embodies barefoot luxury — in this case, adding a minimalist Cycladic twist and vintage ’60s- and ’70s-inspired glamour, with elegant stone archways opening onto a garden-framed pool area with striped chaises and woven straw umbrellas.
Rooms have mid-century charm, featuring curving upholstered headboards, built-in seating areas, geometric artwork, and private outdoor spaces, some with pools and sea views. A spa and fitness center are present as a matter of course, as is a Mediterranean restaurant called Anemoessa and Màre-Màre, a chic poolside bar and lounge.
