Factory Hotel

We’ve seen a single factory building converted into a boutique hotel before, or some quaint old warehouse. The Factory Hotel, though, rather outdoes itself. It occupies not just one industrial building, but a whole factory complex, north of the Münster city center. And the building at its center, the old Germania brewery building, is history in charming red brick, something straight out of the Industrial Revolution, and very much more attractive that the average factory.

That’s the outside. Inside the hotel it’s another world. Suffice it to say that there’s very little in here that’s anywhere near as historically oriented as the exterior of the old brewery building. Here, in a separate building, you’ll find a more modern version of industrial chic, with rough raw concrete walls set against rich wood floors and modernist furnishings.

So the accommodations are stylish, and more than a little comfortable. Equally impressive, however, is the extent of the Factory’s other services, scattered throughout the Germania compound. The fitness center rivals any private health club, with its pool, gym, spa and roof terrace. Three restaurants cover the major cuisines of western Europe, and two clubs respectively focus on live performance and DJ nights. And with no fewer than nine distinct meeting spaces (served by no fewer than three catering kitchens) it’s the sort of place where you might just be able to get your employer to foot the bill.
