Everything about the St. Regis Macao is carefully designed to evoke the elegance of an earlier time, right down to the alternative spelling of the city’s name. While the décor is contemporary, it’s full of echoes of the past, and nods to Macau’s history as a Portuguese seaport. The rooms range from expansive to downright sprawling, and the comforts are extravagant as well. By local standards, a 400-room hotel is practically a boutique; it’s served by the Iridium Spa, a well-equipped Athletic Club, and two flagship food and beverage venues, the New York–style St. Regis Bar and the Portuguese-accented Manor restaurant.
