White City House

Television Center, the mid-century BBC headquarters in Shepherd’s Bush, is no longer in service; its thorough redevelopment, however, is good news for the hospitality world, as it includes White City House, an outpost of the ever-growing Soho House brand of members’ clubs, restaurants, and hotels. In keeping with the building’s period, White City House leans heavily into mid-century modernist style; although the interiors have been thoroughly rebuilt, they’re a beautiful match for this distinctive building.

The 48 rooms and suites occupy what once were broadcast offices, and they display the Soho House brand’s characteristic eye for eclectic detail and low-key luxury. Overnight guests earn the benefits of membership for the duration of their stay — this means access to the fitness center, the brand’s largest in London, as well as the restaurants, from the Japanese Pen Yen to the Northern Italian Cecconi’s and the members-only Club. Meanwhile, on the 10th-floor rooftop, another restaurant serves salads, small plates and wood-fired pizzas with a panoramic view of West London. It’s a long way from Greek Street, but the Soho House experience, no matter the location, seems to be always in demand.
