Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town took over a building at the southern gate of the Tea Horse Caravan Trail and filled it with references to the route's history: lobby stools made from horse saddles, guestroom storage shaped like caravan trunks, murals showing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The guestrooms include Dyson hairdryers, Marshall speakers, and capsule coffee makers. Charm restaurant works with a local chef who cooks Naxi dishes and Yunnan specialties using traditional methods. "Me Space" has a copper birdcage installation and saddle seating for group gatherings. The Tea House runs traditional ceremonies for guests wanting something quieter. Lijiang's ancient town starts just outside the entrance.
