现代设计 和 充满活力
Among the attributes that make Kyoto unique are its machiya townhouses, traditionally built with a shop on the ground floor and living quarters upstairs. This one, historically known as Onyado Niwa, has been thoroughly restored and re-imagined by the Tokyo-based architects Studio Aluc. Two wings were united under a single roof, and the whole of the inn was transformed into a modern machiya inn, now known as Nazuna Kyoto Higashi Honganji.
The seven rooms are all different, and all combine historically minded woodwork and atmosphere with contemporary design interventions; each one features a handsome cedar bath. The common spaces, too, are richly varied and detailed, and are full of gestures paying tribute to traditional carpentry. Breakfast is served daily, and a shabu-shabu dinner can be arranged with some advance notice.
