Long before the term “eco-lodge” existed, the Varty family built Londolozi on a bend of the Sand River in Sabi Sand. Established in 1926, it became the original blueprint for luxury safari camps - wild, soulful, sustainable and purposefully ahead of its time. Its five lodges feel more like a village: thatched roofs, dolerite stone, soft linen, and stories passed down through generations. Game drives follow leopard tracks through the grass, and evenings return to open-air dinners. Few places in Africa feel this deeply lived in, or this deeply loved.
