The small boutique hotel that is Fugaku Gunjo is perched on the remote east coast of Izu Peninsula, with jaw-dropping views of Mount Fuji to the north. Its eight rooms are all positioned to take full advantage of that fact, and each comes with its own open-air soaking tub to take it all in. Public spaces consist of a series of water gardens with a bar, plus some characteristic cherry blossoms. Spacious, upscale rooms include luxe furniture, private terraces, and tatami sections.
