Perfectly positioned midway between two of Florence’s iconic landmarks — the Duomo and the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella — Casa G Firenze is a gem of a boutique hotel housed in a restored 18th-century palazzo. It was once the home of Carlo Lorenzini, author of Pinocchio, and plenty of period character remains in the villa’s beautifully restored frescoes, white stucco ceilings, and original wood flooring. Rooms are cozy and elegant with vintage pieces like writing desks and old-fashioned bathtubs, while high-ceilinged suites, occupying the former dining room and ballroom, offer two levels of living space.
