The Maker Hotel

The founders of the natural skincare brand Fresh were trailblazers in the “clean beauty” business. Their latest venture, a bohemian-chic boutique hotel in downtown Hudson, is a few hours away from their flagship shop in New York City, but the two have plenty in common: period charm, attention to detail, and, of course, first-rate bath products. The Maker occupies a trio of historic buildings, and features eleven rooms outfitted with a mix of Art Deco and mid-century modern décor. Those in the main Georgian mansion-style building have living areas with fireplaces, while Parisian-inspired loft rooms feature dormer windows and French doors leading onto private terraces. Other highlights include a sunny all-day café, an old carriage house converted into a sultry cocktail lounge, a glass conservatory turned into a greenery-filled Italian restaurant, and a cozy library open exclusively to guests.
