The Brisbane edition of the Art Series hotels finds itself in Spring Hill, just outside the central business district, in a mixed-use building that stands above its low-rise neighborhood. Art Series - The Johnson is dedicated to the Australian abstract artist Michael Johnson, whose ultra-saturated colors are the focus of the hotel’s otherwise minimalist spaces. The suites are handsome, and are of course full of art, and the hotel adds a 50-meter outdoor pool on its fifth-floor terrace, as well as a versatile all-day restaurant and bar, Tumbling Stone, named for one of Mr. Johnson’s best-known works.
