Though less traveled than some of Morocco’s other coastal cities, Agadir, set at the confluence of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and the Atlantic Ocean, is well served by the Sofitel Agadir Thalassa. It’s a self-contained luxury resort set right on the beach, and makes much of its French heritage, as well as its impressive wellness program, equal parts thalassotherapy and traditional spa. The rooms and suites range from impressive to downright lavish, all decorated in a maritime-influenced contemporary style, and the restaurants are a particular delight, combining Moroccan and Mediterranean flavors guided by French tradition.
