The tiny, mile-wide Kouri Island, informally known as Love Island for its heart-shaped rock formations, lies just two short bridge crossings from the main island of Okinawa. This little speck of paradise is fringed by sandy beaches, and though it’s solely a leisure destination, it’s not a busy one. This means plenty of tranquility is on offer at One Suite The Grand, a 21-room luxury boutique resort in a contemporary-classic style. Sea-facing terraces are universal, and many of the terraces include outdoor jacuzzis. The restaurant is a fine one, an outpost of Tokyo’s Michelin-starred La Bombance.
