Ostraco Suites
And you don’t have to go far to get away from it all. High on a hillside above the city center you’ll find the Ostraco Suites, a stunning complex of 21 whitewashed suites with an astonishing view of the Aegean and the sort of private and insular atmosphere that only a small family-owned hotel can provide. It’s anything but old-fashioned, though — Ostraco has kept pace with the times, switching over to solar heating and adding massage, personal training and yoga instruction on request.
Each suite is individually decorated, stylish, contemporary rather than modern. Here white-on-white isn’t a design conceit but a nod to tradition, and hand-crafted beds and antique flourishes sit comfortably alongside sleek modern pieces and smart tiled bathrooms. Kitchenettes are standard, and the “executive” suites, despite the name, seem built for relaxation, complete with outdoor Jacuzzis.
The fact that there are not one but two wedding chapels on-site should give you some idea of what kind of place Ostraco is. Mykonos’s town and beaches are easily accessible, but a visit is by no means obligatory — for many, the hotel’s poolside bar and organic Greek restaurant are the perfect alternative to the bars and clubs in town.

How to get there:
Mykonos can be easily reached by plane or ferry. Flight time from Athens is approximately 45 minutes.
Ferries from Athens' Pireaus port to Mykonos take approximately 7.5 hours. Ferries from Santorini (Thira) to Mykonos are approximately 2 hours.

We had a wonderful stay at Ostraco Suites, which felt more like an exclusive resort thanks to the amazing staff and high quality accommodations. They provided pick up from the airport, with Alfonso holding a sign to greet us as we exited the terminal. Tina welcomed us warmly as we arrived at the hotel, offering insight into the property and its amenities. Sophia was equally gracious when happily providing assistance at the reception desk. Our deluxe room was very well appointed and we were delighted to be upgraded after our second night as a deluxe sea view suite became available, thanks to Tablet Plus. The entire staff was genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. Alex, Maria, Theodora, and everyone in the beautiful restaurant and pool area went above beyond to deliver excellent service. Breakfast was outstanding every day and dinner was the best we had in Mykonos. The Ostraco team created an awesome experience for our trip to Greece.
My stay at Ostraco was amazing. Alfonso picked us up at the airport and he went above and beyond to greet us warmly. Same with reception staff, absolutely wonderful welcome. Really what makes the difference is the staff hotel, they do greet guests with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to assist. Another huge shout out to the restaurant/pool team, we decided to eat several times there as the food is genuinely the best we tried in Mykonos. The hotel’s commitment to providing an outstanding experience truly shone through.
Superb Boutique Hotel, super close to the airport and 15 min walk into town (down hill on the way but mostly up hill on the returns). Large private car park. The hotel sits high up and most rooms enjoy a great vista of the amazing sunsets... Lots of places to sit and relax to take in the atmosphere. And two cute churches within the compound for great photo opps... The staff are professional, courteous and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Breakfast but the pool is relaxing with a good selection cooked to your taste. The pool area is large and comfortable, Nebraska too busy with lots of seating options and well stocked bar. The rooms are contemporary in design, although some more modern than others...be sure to reserve the one you like in advance to avoid disappointment. The one with outside bath is cute, comfortable and very private. Aside from the authentic modern design, the staff are truly what makes this place a great place to stay...
