Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel and Dépendance

Ulica Brace Bersa 2, Zadar, Croatia
16 Rooms
Modern Design & Lively
You might find yourself taking some of the décor home after a stay at Almayer Art & Heritage. The boutique hotel, which sits in the heart of Zadar’s old town, is also home to its own art gallery, which showcases a rotating collection of works by local and international artists, most of which are available to buy if something catches your eye. The 16 rooms are spread over two restored historic buildings and range from contemporary grey, minimalist spaces in the main house- the former annex of a 19th century military hospital and barracks- to the saturated shades of blue and mustard in the early 20th century building that once housed the office of Croatian newspaper Narodni List. All are accessorized with bespoke furnishings and of course, contemporary artworks. Corte restaurant serves a menu rooted in the terroir of the Dalmatian coast, complemented by local Croatian wines and Mediterranean inspired cocktails in the bar.
