Of course, this is no museum exhibit — what matters is how well it hangs together for guests, and the answer is: very well indeed. Rooms occupy a range of sensibly named categories, from Small on up through Extra Large to Family; all are chic in near-monochromes with occasional thoughtful (if sober) accents of color. And all, regardless of square footage, come with up-to-date comforts like espresso machines, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, and bathrooms stocked with Physis Laboratory products.
Breakfast is served amid the greenery of the rooftop garden, and there’s a small shop showcasing local lifestyle products, as well as an informal art gallery. Just next door is a café serving light bites and lunch, and beyond that you’re at the mercy of the city — no hardship, given the Modernist’s position at the heart of urban Thessaloniki.
