The Surin Phuket

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and represents the sunny island getaway side of the multi-faceted Thai tourism industry. Alongside the Andaman Sea, on Pansea Bay (and rather near the legendary Amanpuri), is The Surin Phuket, a peaceful, secluded beachfront resort.

This is the archetypal Phuket resort — air-conditioned thatched cottages, amidst groves of coconut palms, look down upon the whitest of white sand beaches. The interior design is elegant, for beachfront huts at least, with an earthy palette, dark woods, and clean, minimal furniture. The location may be unspoiled, but there is nothing primitive about this resort.

Three restaurants serve Thai cuisine as well as international fare and all manner of seafood. Conference facilities for up to 30 are available for those incapable of leaving their business behind, and babysitting is available for those who wish to leave their children behind for a few hours at a time.

Activities on offer include tennis, spa treatments (if those can be called activities), and a variety of water sports are available, between the pool and the bright blue Andaman Sea.

How to get there:
The Surin Phuket is located on Pansea Beach, approximately a 20 minute drive from Patong, 30 minutes from Phuket Town and 25 minutes from Phuket’s airport.
