                        Affable TV chef Björn Freitag is a household name in Germany. In 1997, at the age of 23, he took over this long-established restaurant, breathing new life into the kitchen. In 2002 the place was awarded a MICHELIN star, which he and his team have maintained ever since. The menu features a modern and seasonal take on classic dishes, in which the wonderful flavours of select ingredients are most harmoniously combined. An example is the beautifully presented mosaic of salmon trout with fresh, fruity apple pieces and a delicately spicy onion broth, baby leeks, crunchy little rye bread chips and smoked crème fraîche. The food is excellent, and the charming, adept service and upscale, elegant decor are the icing on the cake. Tip: As is customary in the region, the staff will also be happy to serve you an expertly poured, crisp pilsner! There is a cookery school in the same building.
