Inns of Aurora
Interiors vary in style; most of the inns are contemporary re-creations of the look of the turn of the 20th century, though the newest addition, Zabriskie House, tends toward the soothingly minimalist, and Wallcourt Hall is vibrant, colorful, almost whimsical. The comforts throughout are high-end, but not flashy about it — as plush as it is, there’s nothing gaudy or opulent about these inns.
Then again, the spa complex is an unusually extensive one, rendered in striking modern farm-inspired architecture, complete with hydrotherapy circuits and a café, which is only one of several culinary venues — other options include the quaint-but-modern Village Market, the casual Fargo Bar & Grill, and the Aurora Inn’s historic 1833 Kitchen & Bar, as well as the Aurora Cook! demonstration kitchen, home to a variety of workshops and tastings.
